Serving Suggestions

  • Serve on top of slow cooked pulled pork
  • Add to a grilled steak
  • Marinate lovely pieces salmon or trout and roast in the oven
  • Grill thick piece of Haloumi cheese and serve alongside
  • Spread over the base of a homemade pizza and top with chicken, capsicum, parsley and cheese
  • A delicious addition to roasted pumpkin, served with lettuce and feta cheese

Our Smokey BBQ Sauce recipe came together really quickly,  that is rarely the case with recipe development . When you  have an idea in your head sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.  I’m happy to say that even though there is a place for our traditional tomato sauce  I’m loving the bold flavours that our Smokey BBQ sauce offers.

It’s very rewarding to be able to make a sauce that tastes fantastic and uses quality ingredients and nothing artificial.

We use Jalapenos that we grow out in our paddock under the unpredictable Tasmanian sun (love a challenge). When they are ready we then  smoked the Jalapenos as well as our tomatoes that are also grown out in the paddock to bring this sauce to life. You can not underestimate the difference growing produce out in the sun can make.  As with all of our products, small batch and slow cooking (lots of stiring) is what makes it one of our best selling sauces.

Smokey BBQ Sauce is a must have all year around but I find once the warm weather arrives and the BBQ is in full swing we are using it nearly every day. With such a lovely rich consistency it’s thick enough to use on anything from Sausages to Burgers and even scallops, you will find it hard to resist.  To make something a little special wrap chicken thighs in bacon then brush on our Smokey BBQ Sauce cover and bake in the oven.  A full recipe for this will be available soon on our website.
